It ascertained the factors that affect nurses’ satisfaction in tertiary health care centers in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. Four objectives and hypotheses were formulated to guide the study. The population of the study consisted of four hundred and twenty (420) nurses in Government-owned tertiary health care centres in Port Harcourt which was further reduced to a sample size of two hundred and five (205), using Taro Yamane’s formula while Kendall tau b was implored in testing the null hypotheses. The findings revealed that a significant relationship exists between working conditions, pay/salary, professional esteem, bum out and nurses’ job satisfaction in tertiary health care centers in Port Harcourt. It was concluded that if necessary steps are taken, the nurses would be more effective in their job.
